My quilts are an expression of social, political, spiritual or personal issues. I am a practionner of Nichiren Buddhism (Japanese in origin). The lotus' roots grow in the mud, but beautiful blossoms emerge on the surface. It's a metaphor for overcoming evil, obstacles and ugliness in the world. Hope is always there in front of us.
